From Table Mountain and the penguins of Boulders Beach to lions and leopards in the Kruger, this ten-day journey shows South Africa's two great faces. Four nights in Cape Town cover Robben Island, the winelands, the Cape Peninsula and the colorful Bo-Kaap; a short flight then takes you north for three nights of glamping near the Kruger National Park, with a full-day Big Five safari and the waterfalls and canyon views of the Panorama Route, before a closing day in Johannesburg and Soweto.

Your South African adventure begins today! Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Cape Town. Relax on board as you fly across the Atlantic. You arrive in Cape Town on Day 2.
Welcome to South Africa! On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you are met and taken by shuttle to your hotel.
Check in and take the rest of the day to rest after the long flight, with Table Mountain watching over the city.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Board the ferry to Robben Island, the former prison where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years behind bars. Former political prisoners often guide the visits, bringing the island's story to life.
In the afternoon, a half-day wine excursion takes you to some of the Cape's distinguished wine estates for tastings among the vineyards.
Around 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM, time for lunch (at own expense). Evening at leisure, dinner at own expense.

Start with breakfast before a full day on the Cape Peninsula.
Drive down the coast to Cape Point, where dramatic cliffs rise above the meeting of the oceans, then visit Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins nesting among giant granite boulders.
Finish at the lively V&A Waterfront, with its harbor views, shops and restaurants. Optional: a boat trip to Seal Island.

Explore Cape Town at your own pace: revisit a favorite spot, go shopping, stroll the Sea Point promenade or simply relax at the hotel pool.

A full-day city tour begins at Table Mountain, one of the New7Wonders of Nature, with sweeping views over the city and Table Bay, followed by a guided walk through the Bo-Kaap, famous for its brightly painted houses and Cape Malay heritage.
Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg (included) and check in at your hotel.

Early departure by shuttle to the Greater Kruger area near Hoedspruit.
Check in at Dumela Tented Camp, a comfortable glamping camp, and refresh before your first safari: a sunset game drive in an open vehicle through the Blue Canyon Reserve.
Dinner at the camp with a complimentary glass of wine.
Overnight Stay in Dumela Tented Camp
Depart at 5:30 AM for a full-day safari inside the Kruger National Park, one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves, in search of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.
A bush breakfast is served along the way. Return to the camp around 3:00 PM.
Dinner at the camp with a complimentary glass of wine.

Rise early for a full-day tour of the Panorama Route, one of South Africa's most scenic drives.
Take in the waterfalls of the Drakensberg escarpment, the view from God's Window and the depths of the Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world.
Breakfast and dinner at the camp, with a complimentary glass of wine.
Overnight Stay in Dumela Tented Camp
Optional before breakfast: a one-hour bush walk or a one-hour sunrise drive in the Blue Canyon Reserve (see Upgrades).
After breakfast, say goodbye to the bush and return by road to Johannesburg, arriving at O.R. Tambo International Airport between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, followed by the transfer to your hotel.

Breakfast and check-out between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
A full-day Johannesburg and Soweto tour starts at the FNB Stadium, then explores Soweto, the township at the heart of South Africa's freedom struggle and once home to both Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.
After the tour, transfer to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your flight home (an extra night in Johannesburg can be arranged on request).
